NSPRI Unveils NSPRIDUST® as Organic Solution to Challenges of Grain Storage
The Nigerian Stored Products Research Institute (NSPRI) has unveiled an improved technology called NSPRIDUST® as Organic solutions to the challenges of grains storage. The unveiling was done by the Honourable Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi at the opening ceremony of its 1st Postharvest Connect Conference and Exhibition held on April 18th-19th, 2024 at NAF Conference Centre, Abuja.
While commending the Executive Director of NSPRI, Professor Sanni Lateef Oladimeji and NSPRI management for achieving this remarkable breakthrough, he said the establishment of spin-off companies interested in mass-production of NSPRIDUST® was imperative, noting that the support provided by the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria (ARCN) and the present administration was key to strengthening food security in Nigeria. According to Senator Sabi, the development of NSPRIDUST® aligns with the commitment of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration’s agenda on promotion of sustainable agricultural practices and safeguarding food supply in Nigeria. Sabi was quoted as saying, “As the demand for safe and effective grain storage solutions continues to rise, NSPRI’s innovative product is poised to revolutionize the industry and contribute to the country’s efforts in achieving food self-sufficiency, Aliyu Sabi stated.
