NSPRI Executive Director Celebrates First Year, Calls for Collaboration on Postharvest Issues
The Executive Director of Nigerian Stored Products Research Institute (NSPRI), Professor Sanni Lateef Oladimeji who marked his first-year anniversary in office as the substantive Executive Director of the institute had made a call for collaboration on postharvest issues The one-year anniversary as the Executive Director of NSPRI surprisingly coincided with the 1st Postharvest Connect Conference and Exhibition organised by NSPRI in Nigeria Capital City, Abuja. Professor Sanni while expressing gratitude to God for the journey thus far had used the opportunity to call for greater cooperation and partnership in addressing the Postharvest management challenges in Nigeria.

NSPRI Unveils NSPRIDUST® as Organic Solution to Challenges of Grain Storage
The Nigerian Stored Products Research Institute (NSPRI) has unveiled an improved technology called NSPRIDUST® as Organic solutions to the challenges of grains storage. The unveiling was done by the Honourable Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi at the opening ceremony of its 1st Postharvest Connect Conference and Exhibition held on April 18th-19th, 2024 at NAF Conference Centre, Abuja.

Federal Gov’t To Implement National Agricultural Goods Scheme To Tackle Inflation
The federal government is set to implement the first phase of the national agricultural goods scheme to ramp up food production and ease the ongoing food shortages and high food inflation in the country. The scheme targets wheat, rice, maize, and cassava production. The minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Dr. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, revealed this at the 1st Post-Harvest Connect Conference organized by the Nigeria Stored Product Research Institute (NSPRI) under the theme “Scaling Appropriate Post-Harvest Solutions for Sustainable Food and Nutrition Security.”

NSPRI celebrates International Women's Day
Nigerian Women in Agricultural Research for Development (NiWARD) NSPRI branch recently commemorated International Women's Day with the theme "Inspire Inclusion." The event featured key figures such as the Executive Director of Nigerian Stored Products Research Institute (NSPRI), Professor Lateef O. Sanni and Dr. Sijuwade Adebayo from the University of Ilorin. Dr. Sijuwade Adebayo, the keynote speaker, emphasized the importance of motivating young Nigerian women and highlighted the achievements of inspirational women.

Kwara State Govt Partners NSPRI on Innovative Vegetable Farming
In a landmark initiative to modernize agriculture in Kwara State, Mrs. Oloruntoyosi Adebayo Thomas, the Commissioner of Agriculture and Rural Development, led a delegation of eminent figures to an iconic vegetable farm in Eruda, Ilorin West Local Government Area. The farm, with a rich history spanning four decades, is at the heart of the state's horticultural industry, producing a diverse array of vegetables including Nigerian spinach (shoko), African spinach (Efo tete), Okra, Cabbage, Lettuce, Cucumber, and Pepper.
